The Federal Business Number (also referred to as the BN number) is a 9-digit tax account number that is issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
The BN is used as the underlying number for various federal tax accounts, including Goods and Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax Accounts, Federal Payroll Deductions Accounts and Federal Import/Export Tax Accounts. Accounts for each tax program have their own unique account identifiers which are added to the BN.
With this service we will obtain a BN for your corporation, and we will activate the federal corporate income tax account under the newly issued BN.
Please note that issuance of the BN can take 2-3 weeks, depending on the CRA's workload at the time that the application is submitted.
